April Currently and a New Unit!

I love that it's April!  I love that we are finally starting to get some spring weather!  I love that I have one last day to soak up Spring break before heading back tomorrow!  Since it's April, what is more fun than linking up with Farley and her Currently linky.

Here it goes...

Oops- I guess I saved this a little funky!  Sorry!

Listening- I am so so so excited that baseball is back!  Baseball season makes me so happy.  I love my Cubbies with a passion.  Here's hoping this season will be better than last! :)

Wanting-  oh, just one more peanut butter egg...MMMM!!!  Delicious!!!

Needing-  I think to go along with some spring cleaning, I need to go through my clothes and get rid of what I don't wear.  We don't have a lot of closet space and my poor husband is so patient with my love for clothes! :)

Advice-  I'm still a newbie, but I have found it very important to find a balance.  I write a blog post when I have something to say or share.  I don't pressure myself to do so many a week or whatnot.  I have too much stress in my life already, and this is supposed to be fun!

The Perfect Fit!
This is my newest mini-unit to help practice contractions vs. possessive pronouns.  My students seem to be doing really well with this, and loved these activities!  Check it out!
This pack includes:
25 pages
-4 posters
-Scoot or Scavenger Hunt Game and recording sheet
-2 other games/activities/practice
-5 practice sheets

Hope you had a great Monday!!!

Multiplication Frenzy with a Freebie!

I hope you are enjoying the day off if you have one!  I thought everyone was off, but I've been reading in "blogworld" that some people have school or even a teacher work day today!  If I was in charge of the world- I'd have every Monday off.  I really needed an extra day to sleep and catch up!

Alright, back to the past week in my classroom.  Despite the fact that my students are still working on mastering addition and subtraction facts until twenty, they are obsessed with multiplication.  We are just finishing up some time with arrays and making equal groups to help prep them for multiplication.  We will do some more multiplication at the end of the year...the arrays were fun while they lasted.  My students were fascinated to see how multiplication is the same as repeated addition!  *Enter the oohs and ahhs here*

In order to help reinforce the idea of arrays I created a array unit that focuses on multiplication readiness.  Check it out here!!

This unit includes..
-3 array posters
-4 interactive Make An Array Activities (differentiated recording sheets) using math materials you have in your classroom!
-Memory Match-Up
-Scavenger Hunt
-Scoot
-Yummy Arrays (3 recording sheets and ideas for using snacks to make arrays)
-9 varied practice sheets
-
3 practice sheets focusing on making equal groups

My students absolute favorites were creating their own arrays with stickers, Roll an Array with dice, and SCOOT.  Here is a little freebie from the pack for you!

All I ask is that you become a follower and leave some feedback!  THANK YOU!!

I'm so glad to be off today and glad I finally put the finishing touches on my array packet.  So...my entire store is 20% off today and tomorrow!  Go check it out HERE!

In honor of Martin Luther King Jr. and the Inauguration today, I will leave you with this thought...

I saw this and it made me burst out laughing....so true!  Please tell me I'm not the only one this happens to! ;)  I hope everyone that went back to school today had a great first day back!  I don't go back to school until Monday, so I am still enjoying sleeping, relaxing, reading, seeing family and friends, as well as sneaking in some time for my lesson plans!

My OLW is happiness.  I want to find happiness in each and every day!  Today, just relaxing and cuddling with my husband watching a Lifetime movie brings me happiness (yes, Lifetime- haha! ).  Celebrating Christmas and a New Year tonight with my aunts and family makes me happy! :)  I hope you find some happiness in your day today!

Winter Addition Fun and a Funny Story!

Looking for a way to rid your kiddos of the winter blues?  How about a fun-filled 63 page pack of addition fun and games.  I created this fun and exciting winter unit and I am pumped to start using it when we get back to school in January!  I hope you enjoy it!!  It's only $3.00 but I'll have it on sale for the next two days!

Have a wonderful New Years Eve!  I am excited to spend some time with some great friends as we ring in the New Year!  We are having a wine and cheese party... can you say YUM?!

And since you made your way through this post, here's  a good chuckle for you!  We were reliving Christmas memories and this one just cracks us up every time!  It's Christmas morning and we are about to open presents with our immediate family.  My sister asks my mom what kind of Nook she got my dadd.  (We were all going to pitch in since that's all he REALLY REALLY wanted!)    My mom then proceeded to laugh and say what do you mean...you got the Nook!  This led to some funny glances and  a burst of laugher after an initial freak out!  That's right... neither of them had gotten the Nook.  We had no present for my dad! AHH!  WE whipped up a quick little note on the computer telling him we wanted him to pick out the exact one he wanted! HAHAHA :)  No worries, we came clean to him!

Have a New Year full of love and LAUGHTER...LAUGHTER is key! ;)
